Modeling of spatial organization of vegetation in mountain areas on the basis of satellite information and digital pattern of relief

Modeling of spatial organization of vegetation has been performed in key area in the Sarly river basin (the Western Sayan Mts). Cataloguing of phytocoenotic diversity was carried out on the basis of syntaxonomic analysis of original data and with the use of TWINSPAN method. Peculiarities of relations of plant communities with leading ecological factors were demonstrated in ordination patterns produced with the use of methods of gradient analysis. Direct and indirect features of vegetation types on satellite images Landsat-7 (resolution of 30~m) were reveled with the use of standard methods of Erdas 8.7. Development of thematic patterns "vegetation-relief" and large-scale maps was realized in ArcGis 8.3. The final large-scale cartographic pattern of spatial organization of vegetation has been made as a result of integration of thematic layers of decoded satellite information and digital pattern "vegetation-relief". Algorithm of computational technologies for development of cartographic patterns of spatial organization of vegetation for mountain areas has been described.
