Development of information-computational infrastructure for integrated study of Siberia environment

An analysis of interrelations between modern environmental investigations and information technologies is presented. Up-to-date understanding of the Integrated Regional Study (IRS) as a holistic entity in the context of the Earth System study is described with special emphasis on the role of information-computational technologies, which form the basis and infrastructure for the IRS. The state of art of Siberia Integrated Regional Study (SIRS) is analyzed. In particular, general approach adopted for SIRS information-computational infrastructure is considered in detail. Examples of the designed elements of this infrastructure are given and planned steps in its further development are discussed briefly.
