The general concept and the implementation principles of interactive graphic environment for calculating the parameters of complex power grids

The transition to the up-to-date computer technologies in power industry enhances the importance of creating a general information and control system for emergency situations (GICS ES) for powers tations. The GICS ES must include an extensive data base, on-line recommendation system, providing the optimization of the response to emergency situation (ES), multi-level complex analyzing various breakdowns of technological systems and showing the possible scenarios of ES and breakdowns. While the breakdown simulation can be a particular problem of the specific technological system, the ES modeling is an inter-industry problem which is to be solved taking into acount the general regulations of the software development in each industry. The application software VMAES presented in the paper offers a complete set of facilities for studying the transition problems in power grids. The well-developed program intterface facilitates the customization of the problem solution. The VMAES system may be considered one of the necessary components of the GICS ES at power stations.
