Magnetic field generation under the laser field---plasma interaction

The generation process of a quasi-stationary magnetic field in the wake of a laser pulse has been studied on the basis of the numerical modelling. It was shown that the inversion of plasma waves induced by a large-amplitude laser pulse leads to the emergence of fast electron beams and the resulting quasi-stationary dipole magnetic field is due to the energy transfer of those electrons to the magnetic field through electromagnetic instability.
