Implicit method of fractional steps with the splitting of mixed differential operators

A new resource-sparing, totally stable method of fractional steps for the numerical solution of parabolic problems with mixed differential operators which are split on an asymmetric pattern into coordinate directions is suggested. Theorems of approximation are proved as well as those of stability and convergence. The results of comparative numerical experiments are presented in comparison with the well-known classical methods.
