Modelling of initial stage of separated flow in open contour by discrete vortex method

An algorithm for solution of the initial stage of a separated flow in an open contour is proposed using the discrete vortex method within the concept of nonlinear theory of unsteady flow past a wing. Asymptotic solution for the initial stage is constructed. Coordinates of free discrete vortices and local flow characteristics are specified. It is shown that the nonlinear problem has an infinite set of solutions
