Investigation of the factors affecting the prediction quality of turbulent separated flow

The properties of three TVD schemes for Euler equations constructed by different methods of inviscid flux splitting are investigated on the 1-D Sod problem and the problem of the turbulent separated flow simulation in the neighborhood of forward-faced step at Mach M=3. The properties of the numerical solutions are shown to depend strongly on the algorithm resolving capability. The dependence on some turbulence model parameter that controls the balance of the dissipation and generation of turbulent kinetic energy processes in the turbulent model used in calculation was investigated for the case of viscous problem.
