Modeling of Compton scatter registration in positron emission tomography

A mathematical model of projection data formation in positron emission tomography, based on scattered photons, is investigated. The integral equation, derived under idealized assumptions, needs a verification using statistical simulation. The numerical experiments show a good fit of analytically generated projections and projections calculated with Monte Carlo technique.
