Boussinesq equations on a rotating sphere

The system of Boussinesq-type nonlinear and dispersive equations for motions on the surface of a rotating attractive sphere is derived. Using the transition to the linear velocity and linear coordinates on the surface of a sphere, the interrelation with the well-known Boussinesq models on the plane is established. The formulation of Boussinesq equations in the form suitable for the construction of computational algorithms is given.
