Two-Dimensional Model of Currents in the Novosibirsk Reservoir

A numerical model based on the two-dimensional (in horizontal plane) Saint-Venant equations was adapted to morphometric conditions of the Novosibirsk water reservoir. Simulation of the current spatial structure was performed using the curvilinear grid that accounts for peculiarities of the water body geometry. Numerical scheme was based on the finite volume method. The model was verified against the measured cross-section velocity profiles.
