Numerical modeling of the gas flow over microperforated plate with blowing

In the present paper, numerical simulation of low-speed flow over a flat plate is carried out in order to estimate the influence of the micro-blowing on local and integral skin friction coefficients. The performed calculations indicate that if the integral rate of blowing remains constant then the skin friction drag is not practically sensitive to the distribution of zones with micro-perforation on the plate. The drug reduction due to micro blowing predicted in our calculations is in good agreement with the experimental data.
