A compact noniterative scheme with artificial dissipation for nonlinear Schrodinger equation

A fourth-order accuracy compact difference scheme with artificial dissipation is constructed for the Schrodinger equation. This scheme does not require iterations caused by nonlinearity. Its significant advantage in accuracy, compared to the dissipative analog of Crank-Nickolson scheme, is proved in the series of numerical experiments. In addition, there is a significant reduction in calculation time compared to the iterative compact scheme. With a proper choice for the parameter of dissipation, the improvement of accuracy of the scheme was noticed compared to the scheme without dissipation.
