Numerical high-order scheme for modeling of dynamics of reacting mixture of gas with inert particles

A scheme with high order of accuracy based on the TVD approach and RADAU5 stiff solver is proposed for calculation of shock waves and detonation processes in the one-dimensional unsteady flows of inert / reactive gas mixtures and solid inert particles. Verification of the results of calculations on this scheme is carried out on the basis of test solutions for the propagation of shock and detonation waves in a two-phase mixture, i.e. the problem of shock wave structure in air and inert gas suspension of particles applied for the detonation dynamics in the hydrogen-oxygen mixture with inert fine sand particles. The results obtained using the proposed numerical method agree quite satisfactory with the stationary solutions thus proving the accuracy of the method. As an application, the problem of suppressing the detonation of hydrogen-oxygen mixture by injecting of inert particles was considered.
