Group properties of the universal equation of unidimensional gas flows

Group classification for the nonlinear equation describing one-dimensional gas flows with plane, cylindrical and spherical waves is devised. All special cases of state equation when the basic group can be expanded have been found. In particular, for the plane waves there are additional symmetries if the gas is polytropic with the adiabatic index $gamma$ = 5.
