Vortex generation in a continuously stratified rotating fluid under shifts of part of the basin bottom

A linear problem on the generation of a geostrophic flow is considered in the continuously stratified rotating fluid of constant depth under finite-time movements of the basin bottom. The analysis is based on the integral solution of the problem for the case of exponential density stratification. The study is important for the investigation in the effects that accompany seismic tsunami generation in the ocean.
