Segregation analysis: hystorical steps and statistical approaches

Methods of segregation analysis are briefly reviewed in the article, beginning with analysis of classical inter-cross experimental data and ending with the modern complex segregation analysis of pedigree data. An evolution of statistical approaches and assumptions is described. The major topics of segregation analysis being currently developed are discussed.
