Kinetic schemes and high performance multiprocessor computations in gas dynamics

Some problems connected to the use of multiprocessor computer systems for numerical simulation of gas dynamic problems are discussed on the basis of original approach, i.e. kinetically coherent finite difference schemes. The problems of algorithms adaptation to the multiprocessor systems with distributed memory architecture are considered. The difficulties connecting to the developing of modern parallel software, are discussed. The results of numerical simulation of some actual gas dynamic problems using high performance computer systems are presented.
