An approach to assessing the failure probability of redundant structures

System s contained a set of independent parallel structural elements are considered. The applied loads are shared equally among all elements. There is a finite number of structural elements that provides the maximum possible reliability of the system. The critical stress corresponding to the beginning of catastrophic failure of the system is calculated. The tendency to catastrophic failure depends on the element strength probability and overload.
