Variable resolution numerical weather prediction model

The problems arising in the implementation of the global semi-Lagrangian numerical weather prediction model with variable resolution are considered. The attention is paid to the papameterization of energy runoff for a grid with variable resolution in latitude. The results of forecasts over Russia show the advantage of the variable resolution model during 3.5 day range.
