Realization and verification using reanalysis data of precipitation intensity calculation method based on microphysical processes parameterization.

Precipitation intensity calculation method, based on microphysical processes parameterization in liquid and mixed phase clouds, is verified. Precipitation fields are calculated on the basis of temperature and humidity distribution in the atmosphere, obtained from reanalysis data. Precipitation fields are compared with GPCP (Global Precipitation Climatology Project) and precipitation NCAR/NCEP reanalysis data. Zonal average distributions of precipitation, annual precipitation over Northern Hemisphere and over different regions are analyzed. The results of comparison show that the method gives a good accuracy of the seasonal and annual features of precipitation.
