Numerical modeling of solitary wave motion over underwater obstacle

This paper is an extension of the authors' work on interaction of a solitary wave with a solid body partially submerged into fluid. This paper provides an analysis of the kinematical and dynamical characteristics of the wave during its passage over an underwater obstacle located on the horizontal bottom. Variation of the dynamic load during the interaction of surface waves with solid boundaries is considered. Fully nonlinear formulation of the problem is solved using the boundary element method.
