Dynamic-statistical method of meteorological downscaling

Currently the main tool for the Weather Forecast is numerical modeling. In connection with this, in Russia and other countries different methods of downscaling have been developed. The method presented in this publication is a hybrid of statistical and energy balance models. Using this method we have the opportunity to make the spatial downscaling not only at the points of location of the meteostations but in their vicinity as well. As an example, this method was applied for forecasts in the Pechora district.
