Conditions of the dissipativity and M-matrix property for the difference operator of the transport equation with combined boundary conditions

Positiveness of the real part and M-matrix property conditions for the convection - diffusion difference operator with boundary conditions of the third type are obtained. Positiveness of the real part and M-matrix properties depend on the central or upwind approximation of the convective terms and on the specific representation of these terms in the symmetric or nondivergent form.
