Smoothing iterative method for a class of nonsmooth equations

This paper is devoted to solving a class of nonsmooth equations of Max-type function. Based on the maximum entropy principle, we design a smoothing function to approximate this problem. A new iterative formula is proposed, and an algorithm for solving this problem is given. Their convergence is proved under some conditions. The theoretic analysis and numerical results indicate that the algorithm is effective and reliable.
