Numerical modeling of two-dimensional time-dependent gas flow through porous heat-evolutional elements

The numerical method, based on the combination of explicit and implicit finite difference schemes, is proposed for modeling the time-dependent two-dimensional gas flow through porous heat-evolutional elements, which may arise from natural or human related disasters (as destroyed block of Chernobyl atomic power station). The cooling of convergent porous elements and step changed porous elements is investigated. A cooling process is shown to be affected by the shape of the heat-evolutional element.
