Numerical modeling of the exhumation of ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic rocks

A thermomechanical model of spherical shape inclusion-host systems is presented that allows plastic deformation and kinetics of phase transformation. The numerical method for solution of such problems is proposed. It is shown that this model correctly describes the residual pressure distribution in ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic rocks, exhumed from the depth of 120 km. Application of this numerical model provides important information about formation of the Earth crust.
