Numerical calculation of the renewal function for a renewal process model

Quadrature formulas for calculation of the n-fold convolutions of the error-free running time distribution functions are derived. A model of the renewal process is proposed. It leads to the Volter's integral equation for the renewal function. This equation has been solved numerically using the finite sums method. The optimization problem of the renewal function minimization is considered.
